Derek Cressman is the President and Partner at Durable Surfaces, LLC. Derek has been involved in the construction of large commercial and industrial construction for his entire career.

Throughout his career in construction management, Derek was involved in the design, planning, and execution of well over 50 million square feet of industrial warehousing, manufacturing, and processing facilities. Derek joined Durable Surfaces in 2017 after recognizing that there was a large industry blooming in the region associated with the maintenance and repair of the products that he had built for many years.

Joining Durable Surfaces was the natural evolution in a career serving the large industrial warehouse market and industrial market in the Northeast. He now helps Durable Surfaces provide concrete coating, maintenance, and other repair services across the Philadelphia area.

As the Vice President of Operations and a proud partner at Durable Surfaces, Marc brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the forefront of our operations.

Marc is a distinguished alumnus of the University of Denver, where he earned his master’s degree. His journey in the construction industry began right after high school, as he embarked on a career with a small local site contractor. This early experience laid the foundation for Marc’s future success and ignited his passion for the trades.

In 2010, Marc joined the Durable team, and since then, he has been an integral part of our growth and success. With a keen focus on operations, Marc has played a pivotal role in refining strategies in the field. His commitment to excellence and continuous improvement has not only enhanced our ability to meet client needs but has also contributed significantly to the overall expansion of our business.

Over the past 13 years, Marc has been at the forefront of driving positive change within Durable Surfaces. His involvement in improving strategies in the field reflects a commitment to staying ahead of industry trends and ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service. As Vice President of Operations, Marc continues to lead with passion, expertise, and a dedication to delivering unparalleled results. As the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and a proud partner at Durable Surfaces, Jeff brings extensive experience and creativity to our organization.

Jeff graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in International Business & Marketing and a minor in Logistics. He began his career as a Sales Representative for Mac Tools, quickly advancing to Sales Manager for the Detroit market. Transitioning into the construction industry, Jeff worked as a Project Manager for Tippmann Construction, specializing in Cold Storage Distribution Centers. He also held positions as a Project Manager at Nestle and a Business Development Manager for Refrigeration Services at Stellar.

During his time in construction, Jeff frequently utilized the professional services of Durable Surfaces. Recognizing the value and opportunities the company offered, he decided to join the team in 2016. Since then, Jeff has been instrumental in expanding business segments, building a high-performing sales team, and enhancing the national recognition of the Durable brand.

Throughout his career, Jeff has focused on improving brand recognition nationally, fostering long-term relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor to Durable clients. As Vice President of Sales, he prioritizes developing strong client relationships and ensuring their needs are met. Jeff’s commitment to excellence is encapsulated in his guiding principle:

Dave spearheads the sales efforts for the Northeast Region based out of New Jersey.  He has established strong relationships with valued clients, taking Durable across the country. 

Dave started as a laborer in 2013 while attending college full time, joining Durable Surfaces full time at the beginning of 2014 working as a laborer, quickly moving up to a Foreman position at the age of 20.  Dave continued in his Foreman role for 5 years, helping to train and develop new hires while running productive jobs.  Due to Dave’s hard work and dedication, he was promoted to an Estimator position and then as Project Manager.  As Durable grew and focused on expansion, the owners recognized Dave’s talent and skill sets and entrusted him to open a satellite office in New Jersey in 2020 with the challenge of growing Durable’s footprint and building up a team.  In 2024, Dave was promoted to Business Development Manager focusing on expanding Durable’s client base.

In his spare time, Dave enjoys woodworking in his shop, with a focus on making furniture.  Being a motorcycle enthusiast, he enjoys riding and collecting bikes.  In his words: “I’m pretty much a big gear head.”

“There is no risk when you go after a dream.  There is tremendous risk in playing it safe.”  Dave has always approached his job with a simple mindset, “People call me with a problem, and I am here to help provide a solution.”  Selling is not the priority for Dave, helping clients solve their problems is.

Hunter joined Durable Surfaces over 3.5 years ago, beginning his journey with the company as an intern while attending the Pennsylvania College of Technology, where he majored in Concrete Science. After graduating, Hunter took on the role of Foreman, managing projects and leading crews in the field before moving into his current position as Business Development Manager.

With a background that bridges both technical expertise and field experience, Hunter brings a well-rounded perspective to every client relationship. His understanding of concrete restoration from the ground up allows him to provide practical, efficient, and long-lasting solutions for every project.

When Hunter isn’t working with clients or visiting job sites, he enjoys spending time with his wife, hunting, fishing, and watching football.

Hunter’s passion for the industry comes from seeing how the right concrete solutions can make a lasting difference for customers. Whether it’s solving a unique challenge or developing new partnerships, Hunter is always ready to help make it happen.

Erica Norton

Erica Norton is the Director of Operations at Durable Surfaces and started with the company in 2023.

Prior to joining our team, Erica was in the United States Air Force, as an Air Transportation Craftsman. She traveled all over the world preparing and transporting dangerous goods, cargo, and people, ensuring rapid global mobility. Erica currently has an Associate’s Degree in Logistics and Transportation Management and is undergoing study as a double major in Operations Management and Occupational Safety and Health with a concentration in Construction Safety.

She holds numerous certifications such as OSHA 30 general and construction, NFPA 70E, CPR, HAZCOM, Airborne Silica CP, Hazmat Inspector and MEWP Instructor, which all lead to keeping our crew safe.

Erica believes in work life balance and encourages our team to follow suit. When she is not at work, or in school, you can find her at an open mic or any sporting event, the Eagles being her number 1 team – “GO BIRDS!” Erica’s heart goes into making sure that our team leaves work each day healthier, not just physically – but also mentally – from when they came in.

During her time in the USAF, she was told “Safe, by the book, then on time”. She continues to push this motto every day as there is a plethora of work-related incidents that have taken the lives, or quality of life of so many people before us, and she wants nothing more than to try and prevent that.

Mike Schwager

Mike Schwager is the Senior Estimator at Durable Surfaces. Mike graduated with a degree in Business Management and joined the Durable Surfaces team in 2012.

In his 10+ years at Durable Surfaces, Mike gained hands-on experience in the field as a craftsman and foreman for three years prior to transitioning to a role in project management and estimating. Using the knowledge and expertise obtained from both his time in the field and in the office, Mike strives to provide accurate budgets and comprehensive, detailed proposals to suit your project’s particular needs for budget, timeline & aesthetic. Mike genuinely enjoys seeing projects evolve from the beginning stages of planning as they transform to a functional, finished surface, be it a repair job, polishing or coating project.

When not in the office, Mike enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, four-wheeling, or attending a local cars & coffee event. Some other favorite pastimes of his include weight training and catching Phillies games.

Jeremiah Dyer

General Superintendent

Jeremiah worked as a Mathematics teacher and coach for 10 years and during the summers worked various construction jobs. He went back to school at Pennsylvania College of Technology to pursue a career in technical education. Enrolled in concrete science program and did an internship leading me to Durable Surfaces. He has been working in the field for many years as a foreman and superintendent. He also played a role in growing our technical services division.

Jeremiah’s certifications include:

Jeremiah enjoys spending the majority of his free time outdoors with family and friends. his favorites are hunting, fishing, kayaking, and riding ATVs/snowmobiles. Jeremiah also enjoys going to Penn state sporting events with my family. What he loves best is getting away from everything and enjoying the outdoors.

Jeremiah believes that your character, integrity, work ethic, and hard work will bring you more in life than anything else. He enjoys seeing others grow in their careers and improve and enjoy working hard to provide for my family. He tries to give each of our clients a great experience with every job through high quality work and professionalism.

Isaac Green

Isaac Green is a Project Manager for Durable Surfaces based out of our corporate headquarters in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania.

At over 10 years in the business, Isaac started as a laborer performing installs out in the field. Working his way up the ranks, Isaac has held many positions within our company such as Foreman, Quality Control Manager, Training Manager, Shop Foreman, Safety Manager, and now on the Project Management side. With his wealth of experience across all different roles, he is a valuable asset to the team. Isaac holds multiple safety certifications including OSHA 510, OSHA 30, American Red Cross Instructor, Forklift Instructor, and many more. Due to his length of experience in concrete polishing, he also holds the CPC Craftsman certification from the distinguished ASCC organization.

When Isaac isn’t spending time with his family, he loves exercising, hiking, mixing cocktails, and talking about concrete with his teammates. His inspiration comes from years of developing a love for this industry. Seeing new challenges, overcoming them, and learning more about concrete is what drives him to be successful. Whether it’s a simple project or concrete consulting you are looking for, Isaac is the man for the job!

Caroline Mullin

Caroline Mullin is the Project Manager for Durable Surfaces. Caroline graduated from West Chester University in 2016. She spent 5 years in the Food and Beverage sector before coming to Durable Surfaces.

Caroline spent the first part of her career at Durable as Project Admin, supporting our Project Managers. Having demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills to keep jobs running smoothly, she was promoted to Project Manager in 2026.

In her free time, she loves hanging out with her family, bike-riding, hiking and doing puzzles.

 

Jessica Dial

Jessica brings extensive operational and leadership experience to her role as Project Administrator. She oversees major project functions, including travel coordination, scheduling, and the smooth execution of large-scale organizational tasks.

A 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force, Jessica has led and instructed aircraft maintenance teams, served as an executive administrator to senior leaders, and supported training operations for more than 56,000 joint military personnel. Her career reflects a deep commitment to excellence, mission readiness, and the belief that strong teams are built through trust and genuine connection.

Outside of work, Jessica is happiest outdoors hiking with her pup, decorating cookies, or exploring both a city’s classic must‑dos and its quirky, out‑of‑the‑box corners. She’s also an avid learner who enjoys taking on new skills, ranging from hands‑on projects to entirely new interests.

Jessica lives by the principle “Mission Always, People First.” She believes that when teammates feel valued, supported, and equipped, they will always rise to meet the mission. She is motivated by the challenge of bringing order to complexity and finds purpose in creating structure, anticipating needs, and ensuring teams have the clarity and support required to perform at their best. Kevin Horten

Kevin Horten is a Project Manager at Durable Surfaces based out of Chester Springs.
 
Kevin graduated from Penn State University and holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Prior to joining the Durable Team, he spent the past 4 years in the Submetering and Utilities industry managing a variety of projects nationwide across diverse commercial and residential properties. Kevin was responsible for projects upgrading existing facility infrastructure, specification and installation for new construction, and managing proactive maintenance. In addition, Kevin oversaw a utility asset mapping and documentation division, coordinating GPS tracking and system component verifications for complex gas and water piping networks. 
 
Outside of work, Kevin loves traveling and experiencing new cultures; he hopes to one day visit all seven continents! He also enjoys going hiking with his wife and their dog, trying new restaurants, and cheering on Penn State and Philly sports teams.

Ezekiel Leonard, better known as Zeke, is a Superintendent for Durable Surfaces.

Ezekiel Leonard brings a well-rounded background in construction and leadership to the team. Originally from Bedford, Pennsylvania, he grew up with a strong appreciation for hard work and hands-on craftsmanship. With nearly eight years of experience in the residential construction industry, he has developed a solid foundation in building practices, project coordination, and quality control.

Ezekiel earned his bachelor’s degree in construction management from Pennsylvania College of Technology, where he combined technical training with real-world experience. He first joined the team as an intern during his time at Pennsylvania College of Technology, an experience that sparked his interest in concrete repair and ultimately led him to pursue a full-time role with the company.

Ezekiel also served six years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as a heavy equipment operator/transporter, where he gained valuable skills in discipline, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving under pressure.

Dedicated and detail-oriented, Ezekiel takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality concrete repair solutions.

Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time with friends and family, and catching dirt track races on the weekends.

Joseph is a Field Superintendent for the New Jersey branch of Durable Surfaces. He graduated from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology with an Associates Degree at the age of 18. Since beginning his career at Durable as a laborer in 2022, he has shown tremendous commitment to doing the job correctly, no matter what it takes.

During his time at Durable, Joseph has specialized in our Technical Services, which has led him to spend the majority of his time traveling across the country. He has traveled to 21 states so far, his personal goal is to get to all 50!

Erin Healy is the Office Manager for Durable Surfaces. She oversees administrative tasks, coordinating office operations, and ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the everyday workplace.

Erin’s past experience comes from 6 years in the restaurant industry as she was very involved in operations. She held the position of Corporate Trainer, eventually becoming the General Manager of her restaurant. Erin’s dream was to move into an Office/HR Manager role before starting at Durable in August 2023, as she is currently working on completing her SHRM-CP certification.

Erin loves all things marine life and used to work at the Georgia aquarium where she got to care for Whale Sharks, Manta Rays, and multiple shark species. Something she prides herself on is her publication in NASA for her research on why Oyster beds are so critical to our environment. In her spare time, she likes to dive, kayak, and be outdoors.

Erin’s favorite inspirational quote that she lives by is “There is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.” Erin finds fulfillment in the dynamic nature of her daily challenges, relishing the opportunity to assist others and continually expand her knowledge and personal development.

Throughout her career, Crystal has supported organizations in building strong teams and has been involved in several startup initiatives, giving her firsthand experience with growing a company from the ground up. That passion for building teams and creating opportunities is what drew her to Durable Surfaces. She enjoys identifying top talent, developing recruiting strategies, and creating partnerships with high schools, technical schools, colleges, and community organizations across Pennsylvania to introduce students and job seekers to careers in construction.

Kelly Kenny

Kelly Kenny is a Senior Accountant at Durable Surfaces, where she supports the company’s accounting and financial operations. She enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and providing financial insight that helps the team make informed decisions.

Kelly brings more than 20 years of accounting experience across both the public and private sectors. Before joining Durable Surfaces, she spent a decade in public education accounting and a decade in commercial real estate accounting. She holds both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA in Accounting and is continuing to expand her knowledge through the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) as she builds her expertise in construction accounting. Her connection to the concrete industry began long before joining Durable Surfaces as her father has owned and operated a concrete company for more than 40 years.

Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, boating and fishing, cooking, and traveling. She appreciates any opportunity to be on or around the water. 

Kelly enjoys finding ways to improve processes and help others succeed. She takes pride in being dependable, detail-oriented, and collaborative, helping build the strong financial foundation that supports Durable Surfaces and its customers.

Joe Altemus

Joe Altemus has been employed with Durable Surfaces for over 20 years. He has held several positions in that time including foreman, superintendent, safety manager, and project manager. He currently serves as Shop Foreman at our Chester Springs location. He continues to meet the daily needs of each of our three locations and all the challenges that come with a growing company.

On a personal level, he has a wonderful wife of 28 years and four beautiful daughters which keep him busy. He enjoys outdoor activities including camping and even more recently power lifting. He enjoys working with a great team at Durable Surfaces and when asked if he has a favorite quote , he replied “It is a simple, timeless quote: The Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

“Shanky” plays an important role in keeping our equipment operating safely. Keeping our equipment operating is a daily challenge in this demanding industry and Shanky has never shied away from getting his hands dirty. Even with his hands full, keeping our equipment humming, Shanky is always smiling and willing to help no matter what the ask.

He takes pride in keeping equipment job-ready and minimizing downtime, knowing that reliable tools directly impact the team’s ability to deliver in the field.

Outside of work, Jason enjoys fishing, hunting, spending time outdoors with his wife, and worshipping God. He values the camaraderie at Durable and takes satisfaction in making the team’s job easier through dependable equipment and support.
